On Saturday March 29th 2008 the Arcadia school, residence and land was auctioned; Vic Roads had bought the property in its land acquisition program prior to works commencing on the duplication of the Goulburn Valley Hwy in June 2006.
The property was passed in at auction for $137,500.00 and later sold to local identity Richard Walker for an undisclosed amount. The school building had been moved to this site in 1917 and closed in 1982 when low school numbers made it unviable to continue operating; the residence had been built in the late 1940’s.
