The 7th and final meeting for the Arcadia group was held on Dec 6th 2004 The main items that came under discussion were: The new design plans for the Doyle’s Rd intersection were presented, the new plan will allow better access for traffic using this intersection and will reduce the hazard for moving stock to the freeway underpass. |
As the previously proposed stock crossing at Dry creek will not be user friendly and would be unavailable during times when the creek had a flow of water in, and also the environmental concerns of a stock in the creek, Vic Roads have now agreed to construct the crossing closer to Doyle’s Rd. The underpass would be app. 70 m long, 3m wide, and 2.4m high with a skylight at the middle of the structure, forcing yards at each end would also be built, it would also include a pump system for minor flood events.
Construction Manager John Harvey indicated that $100,000 would be used by the project to carry out the management plan for the Calder Woodburn Memorial Avenue.
A presentation was given on the rest area design for the northbound carriageway and also the proposed concepts for the noise wall at Dry creek.
John Harvey advised that as the project design is almost complete and no funding for construction is currently available, the CLG would be suspended until funding is available.
