Work has begun on the duplication of the Arcadia section of the Goulburn Valley Hwy. Today fencing contractor Paul Keady has commenced erecting fences along the new route, and earth works have begun in preparation to lay pipes under the freeway for the supply of irrigation water at Doyle’s Rd and Karramomus Rd. It is expected that bridge works will commence in the very near future.

Following the announcement by the Federal Treasurer Mr Peter Costello on Feb 2nd 2006 that the $40.5m for the duplication for this section would be released, tenders were called and contracts awarded. On May 8th the contract to carry out the work was awarded to Cut and Fill P/L for an amount of $29,919,776.02
